October 6, 2008 ~ Last day a person may register and be eligible to vote in the General and Nonpartisan Election and Runoff. O.C.G.A. 21-2-224 (a)

You are NOT officially registered to vote until your application is approved.

REQUIREMENT: If you are registering for the first time in Georgia, tak a copy of one of the
following to submit with your application:

  • A copy of a current and valid photo ID
  • a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or
other government document that shows your name and address.

Those who are entitled to vote by absentee ballot under the Uniform and Overseas Citizens
Absentee Voting Act are exempt from this requirement.

WARNING: Any person who registers to vote knowing that
such person does not possess the qualifications required by
law, who registers under any name other than such person’s
own name, or who knowingly gives false information in
registering shall be guilty of a felony.
O.C.G.A. § 21-2-561

To register to vote in the state of Georgia, you must be:
A citizen of the United States.
A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote.
At least 17 1/2 years of age.
Also, you may not register to vote if you are currently:
Serving any sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony.
Judicially determined to be mentally incompetent.
You may register to vote at any time, but you must be registered by the close of registration prior to an election if you wish to vote on election day, i.e., the application must be postmarked by the deadline Monday, October 6, 2008.

Change of Residence
Voters are required to notify the board of registrars of their county of residence whenever they move.
If you move within the same county in which you are registered to vote and don't notify the registrar at least 30 days prior to an election, you may vote in your old polling place for that election. You must file a notice of your new address. This can be done by writing your county board of registrars' office, or by submitting a new voter registration application.

If you move outside the county in which you are registered to vote within 30 days of an election, you may vote in your old precinct for that election.

If you move outside the county in which you are registered to vote in excess of 30 days prior to an election, you have lost your eligibility to vote in the county of your old residence. You must register to vote in your new county of residence. If you don't register to vote by the deadline, you cannot vote in that particular election.

Precinct Cards
If you have misplaced or have not received your precinct card within three weeks of submitting your application, please contact your county board of registrars' office to request a new precinct card or to check the status of your application.

Now that you have registered, be sure to vote.

Hopfully, there will be no pegging of votes that will allow stacked votes to ensure the current Admin gets the guy elected that will just to dole out pardons. Vote early so the voting process will not be hijaced like Congress was hijacked to invade Iraq. Crimes of the current Admin, should be brought to the attention of the public, just like the White Warter Investigations.
